The luxury for bicycles probably was forgotten somewhere in the 19th century industrial revolution or perhaps in the process of Chinese mass production but it's not all lost. Lately we have yet again started appreciating the craftsmanship and the taste for goods coming out of specialised workshops made by real people investing their time, sweat, skill and precision to produce beautiful and unique peaces of equipment and Woodstick
turns out to be exactly one of those.
has polished their skills to hand craft some of the most beautiful and practical wooden handlebars you could imagine. The common thought that comes to ones mind hearing a "wood handlebar" is an image of a broom stick stuck in the stem but there is a lot more than that to a decent handlebar.
is producing the handlebars by plying layers of wood adding a lot of strength to it and to thin the slightest amount of doubt they have found a way to either insert a steel tube in the middle or add an aluminium plate in the plied sandwich which results in a massive amount of strength.
Having cleared the issue of strength out of the way all I'm left with to say is...wow! With no doubt they look beautiful. Woodstick
have done a decent work on the design and they are technologically advancing and creating more challenging shapes with curves and bends, now even a riser bar is available with a worked in aluminium plate.
See for yourself and in the gallery and tell us what you think of them, all handlebars are also available from our online store
and are delivered worldwide.
