L’Eroica is a very classy event that is inspired by the cycling style from early 1900’s to 1987. The bikes that are pedaled down a scenic route represent the times gone and is celebrated with beauty and respect for the classic racing bike.
The events are organized by and for Historical and Vintage style bicycle riders.
L’Eroica was started in 1997 by Giancarlo Brocci, who was an admirer of the values of a past cycling so much that he wanted to reconnect others to the heritage that inspired much Italian history, literature, culture, and music.
L’Eroica also stands for the protection and preservation of the last gravel roads in Tuscany and the romanticism or countryside scenery and feeling.
There are 9 annual evens carried out in California (USA), Monagu (South Africa), Buonconvento and Gaiole in Chianti (Italy), Mount Fuji (Japan), Punta del Este (Uruguay), Valeknburk (Netherlands), Bakewell (UK) and Cenicero (Spain)
The next event is from 28 September to 2 October 2016 Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany (Italy) and it is the event that started and inspired the entire movement first held in 1997.
