No great story ever starts with a glass of milk! In Spring 2012 the idea of Quella bikes was born aside a pint of amber brew. Two passionate cyclists Mark and Jordan started to hand build bicycles in The Old Egg Shed, an old farmland in Cambridgeshire.
What is your own favourite product from the brand?
My new favourite is our Evo. It is so versatile, it looks great and is a pleasure to ride whether on trails or on the road it adapt perfectly.

Do you have a favourite cycling event/activity that you take up every year?
My favourite place to cycle is Mallorca, beautiful smooth surfaces, breathtaking scenery and unforgettable routes. I go at least once per year.
What inspires you to cycle, what places would you suggest to cycle to?
Cycling for me is a great stress reliever, you just feel great after a long hard ride and of course you get fit. It's also a great social and we always make time to have a couple of beers after!
What’s planned for near future ?
We are constantly developing and experimenting with new products and have some lovely bespoke parts we have developed and produced completely in-house at our new 4000sq.ft premises in Cambridge.

Signature, hand-built Quella One 2015 fixed-gear single-speed bikes embody high performance, reliability, and personality at its heart. Aesthetically bold, yet sophisticated and quintessentially British, the One is a whole lot more than a simple status symbol.

Quella Nero series:
Aesthetically bold, yet sophisticated. Quella Nero is a classic. Fast, affordable and stylish. Available in a choice of 12 hand-finished colour combinations, all with bullhorn handlebars and 700C wheels. Weighing in at 11.5kg, the Quella Nero is a respectable weight particularly at this price point.
Assembled at Quella’s new workshop in Cambridge and backed by British craftsmanship and that minimal aesthetic, it looks ideal as a trouble-free commuter bike with style.
Quella x Ted Baker:
A thoroughly modern take on an Italian classic, each bike is powered by the British craftsmanship and expertise of Quella. Available in three stylish colourways, they feature a unique Ted Baker/Quella steel frame of vintage Italian racing heritage, finished with the finest copper plated Nervex lugs and frame sections.
Whether you take to the rushing torrent of the town or the trickling tributaries of the country, each stunning showpiece is flawlessly designed with style and substance, geared for performance with top-end Campagnolo Athena 11-speed groupsets and traditional Dia Compe 610 Centre Pull brakes. Handsomely considered from seat to spoke, they come complete with a Brooks England leather saddle and bar tape.
Available as a single-speed or with the latest SRAM automatix 2 speed, a bike for multiple uses: road rides and daily commutes as well as country trails. It is available in two colour combinations – orange and black or midnight purple and black .
It weighs just 10.5kg and features a Columbus Cromor frame,with cross-ride capabilities and that can be easily stripped back to a lightweight fixie for urban riding.
